In nature, rabbits live in groups, in underground tunnel systems that they have dug.
The structure and size of this animal varies considerably depending on the breed: it starts, in fact, from the Dutch dwarf rabbit that weighs less than one kilo and reaches the giant breeds, (such as the Flemish giant), that weigh up to eight.
The rabbit's digestive system is characterized by a particular physiological characteristic, which determines a process of formation and reabsorption of a specific type of feces, called soft feces.
Thanks to this, the rabbit, which is monogastric, is able to "digest fibrous food" by bacterial fermentation, as occurs in polygastrics.
